Robert Bonfe, originally from Atlanta and raised on Long Island, grew up with a deep appreciation for the ocean and hands-on craftsmanship, inspired by his shoemaker grandfather. He honed his leatherworking skills and later became a dedicated special education and science teacher. His love for nature and Native American art grew through travels to places like Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon. Now retired, he designs nautical and southwestern-themed belts and buckles. He lives on Long Island with his wife Vanessa, drawing inspiration from time spent with his children and grandchildren.
